On October 9, Tyson Fury will defend his WBC title against Deontay Wilder in a rematch. However, "King Gypsy" is currently at Alder Hey Children's Hospital in Liverpool with his newborn daughter Athena.
The third fight between Fury and Wilder is once again in jeopardy of being postponed.
Athena "died in 3 minutes" after birth, but the dedicated doctors at the aforementioned hospital were able to save her in time. Specialists are now caring for the newest member of the Fury family.
Since his daughter's recovery, the WBC heavyweight champion has never left her side, and he is always kept up to date on Athena's progress. Fury is also donating money to the hospital that his father, John Fury, described as the best children's hospital in England, if not the world.
Mr. Fury is also attempting to prevent his son from crossing the Atlantic in October for a third fight with Wilder in the ring. The 57-year-old former boxer does not want "a responsible father" to abandon his family during this critical time.
He claimed that no one would expect a boxing match to happen at a time like this. Family is family, work is work and sport is sport but family must come first, before everything else. The thing is you will perform well in the ring at night if you are a happy family man who knows everything is fine at home.
Mr. Fury wants his son to concentrate on his family for the time being.
He claimed that he is his father and Tyson is here at the moment. If there is a problem, then they would cancel the match, he would do that.
Mr. Tyson also revealed that they still want to fight Wilder anyway, so hopefully Tyson can bring his daughter home. And if all goes well, they will start practicing in the coming days.
He told BT Sport about the event that it's not good if things go wrong and suggests all waiting for the boxing match to begin. He doesn't give a damn if his son fights Wilder next year or never again.
